Joshua Vaughan - 2025/2026
OCTOBER (INSTALLATION MEETING) OCTOBER 18th 2025

With over 70 brethren in attendance, including many Grand Officers, Josh Vaughan was installed as Worshipful Master in a ceremony led by Terry Thurston and supported by the Lodge officers. Iain MacMillan our reigning Master opened the Lodge and conducted the early business but, due to on-going medical problems humbly handed over the reins to Terry. There was a few other changes for the opening as Stuart James acted as Senior Warden and Roy Squibb as Inner Guard. Paul Field occupied the Junior Wardens chair following Josh vacating the role.

Once Josh was placed in the chair there was an abundance of surprises to follow, with a rarely seen explanation of the installed masters’ tools, delivered by Peter Jacks.
Josh went on to include an extended address in installing his Immediate Past Master, Iain together with concluding the meeting with the long closing.
Everyone present was delighted by the ceremony and the positive atmosphere, particularly during Josh's investiture of his officers culminating in a memorable celebration of Freemasonry..
The Festive Board continued in the same spirit with good company, good food and good humour including a bumper raffle and separate bottle raffle which raised £800 for the Lodge Almoners purse.
Roger Davies led the brethren in a hearty rendition of the Masters song, after which Josh delivered a sincere account of his early life, his introduction to Freemasonry, and its significance for him today. Many attendees regarded his address as one of the most impactful responses they have heard, and it was met with a standing ovation.
It was a day that highlighted the best in Freemasonry, as one member has built friendships, supported his lodge, and demonstrated the value of the craft.

NOVEMBER 15th 2025 (Remembrance Meeting)
Joshua Vaughan our Worshipful Master, opened his Lodge at 4pm precisely.
Following the early business the work continued with an initiation ceremony of Malcolm Bligh, a Pathway candidate.
The WM ably assisted by his officers performed a faultless and at times, moving ceremony which was fully appreciated by all those in attendance and in particular the candidate.
Paul Marshall presented the working tools and Brian Bowden-Brown gave the charge after initiation in his excellent, calm meaningful voice.

There then followed a superb Festive Board dedicated to 'Remembrance' and totally organised by Josh.
The dining room was decked out with bunting, table posters and union jack flags. Before the meal began there was silence while Iain MacMillan marched around the room to an empty chair where he placed a entered apprentice apron and lit candle giving an address to those fallen Brothers who during the evening would have a place with us represented by the chair.
The meal relating to the early nineteen hundreds being Scotch Broth, Roast Beef and traditional English Sherry Trifle was served during the evening and was encompassed with announcements, readings, a very officious Sergeant Major, quiz and a flying tournament lead by our own Biggles, all of which dedicated to remembering the fallen.
At the end of the revelry toasts were made and in particular to the candidate Malcolm who by now was taken aback at the Masonic traditions and camaraderie of the evening.
The evening concluded with the distribution of some food rations consisting of nibbles and small bottle of Rum.
