Text Box: MASTERS CHARITY

Brethren,

Having served for almost 36 years in the Royal Navy I know what vital and necessary work this Charity carries out and I am proud to support it. Although the charity is very young, having only been launched during 2007, it has achieved a great deal in the support of our wounded service personnel.

You can see surrounding this address several extracts by Bryn Parry the Appeal Chairman reporting in his recent appeal letter explaining a little more about the charity but uppermost stating ’they are strictly non political and non critical preferring to get on with the job than talking about rights and wrongs.’

Text Box: Our first task was to raise £6 million to help provide a swimming pool and gym complex at the Tri Service Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court. With the support of Royalty, the Armed Services, Celebrities, the Press and thousands of ordinary, decent people, we achieved that target in our first eight months.
Text Box: The charity Help for Heroes was launched in October 2007 in response to the desire of ordinary people to do something practical to help our wounded servicemen and women. As individual we are powerless to prevent war and we feel helpless that we are unable to stop our men and women from being killed and wounded. By joining together as Help the Heroes, we are doing something practical to help; we are doing our bit.

As in previous years there will be a festive board roll over raffle which by the time you read this would have already begun; the top prize of a flat screen, HD all singing television being drawn at our March Fish Night meeting.

So Brethren, with your support we can raise a substantial amount for this worthwhile cause, which means a great deal to me and we can be proud in adding its name to our list of charities we have helped.

Text Box: Help for Heroes is very simple; we are strictly non political, we recognize that wars happen under any government, and we are non critical, preferring to get on with the job rather that talking about the rights and wrongs.

Thank you.

 Bill...
