PRESS RELEASES

Our current master W/Bro Andy Latham during his year 2011/2012 is supporting

As described earlier in this website freemasonry from its earliest days has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. This continues today and is not just restricted to distressed freemasons but also to the distressed in the community. This page describes our lodge efforts in supporting the principals of charity. There is also a section covering press releases from the Grand Charity.

The above Masters have raised a staggering £30,000 over the past 7 years. The Lodge also during this period through member donations to our charity chest has allowed us to give many other donations locally or even providing a small contribution to assist following a major disaster that may occur anywhere in the world.

We have achieved Grand Patron status for the ESSEX 2011 FESTIVAL APPEAL.

One of our favourite charities launched just over 7 years ago by our own Essex Masons is the TLC Scheme fondly known as the ‘Teddies’—a simple act of providing a child in hospital with a teddy to calm and reassure them has spread from our own Province to many throughout the country and has recently been reported to be operating in Gibraltar, Cyprus and the USA. From its conception we have raised over £1000 for this wonderful scheme and we no doubt will continue for many years to come.
