Text Box: We are proud of all our meetings but listed below are some of those meetings that were exceptional or included a memorable event.

This meeting allowed our First principal Ex. Comp. Mike Joel to show that still had the expertise to perform an excellent exaltation ceremony after some 20 years since he last delivered the ritual. In addition we were honoured by an official visit by Len Davies APGP. The icing on the cake was Mike presenting Ex. Comp. Len a cheque for £500 towards the Festival 2011. This now brings the Chapter total for the festival to £3672 which achieves for the chapter an honorific of Vice Patron; however with the time

remaining the Chapter is hoping to go higher and reach the status of ‘Patron.’ Just as a foot note Ex. Comp. Mike gave a dispensation that in the absence of a camera the use of a mobile phone camera would be allowed for the taking of the above picture.

Following the entry of Ex. Comp. Glyn Jarrett PGStB Second Provincial Grand Principal, Ex. Comp. Bruce Mapson then went on to perform an excellent exaltation ceremony ably assisted by Ex. Comp. Robert Mount acting as PS; a first class performance from all who took part. Ex. Comp. Bruce then presented Ex. Comp. Glyn with a transfer note from our Charity Chest for £1843 together with a cheque for £500 both values amounting to £2343 payable to the

Monday 1st December 2009

Festival 2011 festival. This large amount of money (plus previous donations) allowed the Chapter to become a Grand Patron of the festival. Glyn was physically moved by the amount presented and said that it  was the largest sum he had received and  stressed that all the members of the Chapter should be justly proud of the achievement. Bruce also expressed his thanks to all and how lucky he was for it to occur during his year as First Principal.

25 years have passed and the celebration of those twenty five years took place this day. As a wonderful gesture the reigning Zerubbabel Ex. Comp Bruce Mapson suggested that the remaining founders of the Chapter be allowed to host the meeting which is what took place.

Text Box: Prior to the entry of the Provincial Grand officers a brief eulogy was given by Ex. Comp. Bill Fraser for Ex. Comp. Doug Innell who passed away during the 8th February; Doug was the first exaltee of the Chapter and therefore it was with great sadness that he didn’t make this special occasion. The Chapter stood to order in his memory. The minutes of the consecrating meeting held during Monday, 4th February 1985 were read; the mentioning of all the founders names and potential exaltees and new members included in the address brought back memories for many of the 70+ in attendance and set the scene for the rest of the afternoon. The meeting continued with an exaltation which was performed perfectly by the founding members with Ex. Comp. Simon Clarkson performing his first ceremony as PS; and he didn’t let us down! Ex. Comp. Robert Mount gave the Symbolical Lecture and our reigning MEZ Ex. Comp. Bruce Mapson gave the full Mystical Lecture; both deliveries eloquently performed by the companions. Our exaltee Gary Tyler knew this was going to be a memorable meeting which he sensed during his ceremony and felt some pride in being part of the event. Just prior to the meeting closing Ex. Comp. Glynn presented the Chapter with its Grand Patron certificate for its charity contributions to the Festival 2011; a befitting end to the afternoon. The Festive Board continued the theme with the three Principles providing a very interesting account of when the Chapter was formed and some of the difficulties they faced (EXCERPTS FROM THESE ADDRESSES WILL SOON BE ADDED TO OUR HISTORY PAGES). Most Ex. Comp. Guy Jerman replied to the Province toast in a splendid and very humorous but congratulatory way towards the Chapter which was warmly received by all the companions. Thanks and congratulations must be afforded to all the officers that took part but in particular Ex. Comp. Robert Mount for all his preparations and effort in pulling the meeting together for what turned out to be a warm and memorable celebration of the Chapters very successful 25 years.
