PROVINCE OF ESSEX

It was considered after some 85 years that the Lodge should have its own Chapter which was then proposed and approved at the Lodge meeting held on 15th October 1983. The proposals were passed unanimously and the Albert Lucking Chapter was consecrated on the 4th February 1985 at the Masonic Hall in Rochford. The founders and first officers were as follows:-

The Chapter stayed in Rochford for only two years holding its final meeting during the 1st December 1986 before moving to Freemasons’ Hall, Woodgrange Drive with its first meeting there during the 2nd February 1987. The Chapter remained here for 18 years and then moved once more to our present home in Saxon Hall. The final meeting in Woodgrange Drive during December 2005 was a rather sparse event, not from members but from the lack of centre furniture and ornaments. This couldn’t be helped as many pieces had been transferred to the new centre in preparation for its opening in January 2006. The Chapter held its first meeting in the Thames suite, Saxon Hall during Tuesday 7th March 2006.
